9 weeks, 3 days

....WOW... it's been awhile. Blame it on the complete exhaustion and night-time nausea...along with the fact that Hubby and I have been battling a whooper of a cold...and you get why I've neglected keeping this up to date. I promise to do better though...

On Tuesday, January 4th - I officially graduated from our RE/our miracle man, Dr. E. I know I should have been ecstatic for this day...but I was honestly really sad. Ok, I'll admit it. So much so, that I actually teared up as we were saying goodbye. Blame it on the hormones if you must...but Dr. E and all the nurses in his office have really become like part of our family.

I had gone in for a follow-up ultrasound. Since Dr. E wasn't with us for our "christmas miracle ultrasound", he really wanted to see me when he got back from vacation. This was the first appt since our BFP that I'd gone by myself. I figured it wouldn't be a big deal...NO idea that it'd be my last appt with Dr. E. He and the nurses greeted me as soon as I got into the room. I was so touched...they all seemed so genuinely excited to get to see a happy, healthy, growing baby...

As soon has he put the ultrasound probe in, this was the beautiful picture we all saw...

...head down and ready to go! Dr. E and our nurse had the biggest smiles on their faces. After taking a couple quick measurements (growth was right on target -9w3d- and heartrate at 162), we all just sat there watching "Rocky" dance around. Dr. E seemed to get a kick out of seeing such an active kid. "Good luck to you in the coming months if this is how active he'll be all the time!" he said.

After the ultrasound, he asked if I had any questions. Thinking that I had time to come up with my millions...I didn't. That's when he dumped the big news on me.

"Sooo...I think you're ready to graduate to your OB!"

After trying to convince him that in fact, I was totally ok with him seeing me all the up to 40 weeks... I agreed that he was right. We were ready to move on. After he assured me that I could still contact him with any concerns, he handed me a packet of info to give to our OB, gave me a hug and said, "I better get to meet this little miracle someday..."

I'm thinking of searching for a place to make a onesie that says: "Dr. E is the man!"...or something to that affect. No question...this kid's picture will proudly be tacked up to the board - joining the hundreds of other pictures of Dr. E and his little miracles.

  2. That's so cool that he is so vested in his patients-he sounds like an amazing physician.
